Whitefalls

“A trading post beside an expansive falls, the smoke of hearth flame mixing with the plume of woodsy mist.”

The falls appear as you round the hilly bend, a shimmering wall of spray nearly obscuring the distant wall of a thirsty gorge. Covered wagons and hooded travelers hustle across a taut webbing of rope and wood, a bridge holding the yawning chasm together. Fingers of smoke drizzle from narrow chimneys, and open doors beckon to those eager to find solace from the winding road. A warm fire and roasting sweetbreads await the weary, but all know the wilds will eventually call them back into the mists.
